Raspberry Pretzel Dessert

This is one of the desserts that our family has every Christmas Eve. It is a favorite!

Raspberry Pretzel Dessert

3/4 cup melted butter
3 tablespoons sugar
2 1/2 cups pretzel, crumbled coarsely (not the stick kind) I put them in a Ziploc bag and run my rolling pin over them.
Mix the pretzels, melted butter, and 3 tablespoons of sugar. Press into a greased 13 X 9 inch glass pan. Bake in a 375 degrees oven for 10 min. Let cool.

1 cup sugar
1 8 ounce package cream cheese
1 package Dream Whip
Mix the cream cheese and 1 cup of sugar with an electric mixer, set aside. Prepare the Dream Whip according to the package directions, and fold into the cream cheese mixture. Spread onto the cooled crust.

2 3 ounce packages raspberry gelatin
2 cups boiling water
2 10 ounce packages frozen raspberries
Whipped cream for topping
Dissolve the raspberry gelatin in boiling water. Add the frozen raspberries and stir until thawed, being careful to preserve the whole berries. It should be thickened (from the frozen berries), spread over the cream cheese mixture and refrigerate until set. Serve with whipped topping.
Serves 12
